The zodiac is a type of energetic calendar, a projection of the macrocosmic structure, a reflection of its image in the microcosmical layer of existence. As a scientific and metaphysical construct, the zodiac varies along with the cultural characteristics all around the world, so there isn't only one such energetic calendar, but there are just as many as the number of different cultures that we can find in the world. Some of the most popular zodiacs are the European zodiac, the Chinese zodiac and the Indian zodiac. There also series of correlations between our date of birth and different natural living creatures, all gathered into systems of belief and intuition, such as the totemic zodiac and the tree zodiac. The thing that is common for all the zodiacs is their energetic characteristic, and their influence on the psychological tendencies and attitudes manifested by any human being. The zodiacal systems are focused on interpretations of the positions of the planets, and every zodiac has its own way of measuring time, so there is no zodiac that begins on the first of January, like the profane year. For example, the European zodiac's year begins in March, and the Chinese zodiac's year begins in February, though it does not have a steady date. The druidic zodiac, also known as the tree zodiac, is an elaboration based on the classic zodiac (the European one) with twelve signs that alternate along with the months of the year, though they do not exactly overlap. In the druidic system, every sign of the European zodiac is split into three decades, containing ten degrees each (ten days), with rare exceptions given by the date of the solstices and the equinoxes. The signs of the druidic zodiac are named after trees, like Ash Tree, Hornbeam, Apple Tree and others. Another zodiac that has many resemblance points with the druidic one is the Indian zodiac. The Indian zodiac uses the same division of the classical signs' duration and it includes thirty six signs, such as Dolphin, Monkey, Bear, Hunter and others. The Chinese zodiac has twelve signs, and every year has its own sign. These signs are named after the animals that answered Buddha's last summoning, and the order of the signs in the zodiac is given by the order of their arrival. The first sign of the Chinese zodiac is the rat, and the last one is the pig. Finally, the most popular of all is the European zodiac, which has twelve constitutive signs (horoscope Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius). The system of these signs is like a profane year, with its twelve months, unlike the Chinese zodiac, where each of the signs corresponds to a certain year. Each person chooses to gather information about his or her individuality based on horoscopes that come from different systems of astrology, whether is Chinese astrology or Western astrology, especially when it comes to their love horoscopes.
